Both were determined to have their way. On one fateful day Dad dug very far under the concrete and finally extracted the saplins roots and all. Resting after this well won fight Dad said he began to feel guilty because he thought about how hard this little sapling had fought to live. He rose from his chair, went outside and planted the sapling in the mid level of the backyard. Today the tree is the tallest and happiest of any tree within miles.
